About Us

Harvest Rain Early Learning Academy ( HRELA) is a non-profit organization that provides affordable and Quality Rated child care, school-age care, and educational and family services for ages 6 weeks to 18 years old in the South Fulton community. HRELA was the first full-serviced and licensed center in the City of Fairburn. We were founded by Pastors Douglas and Ingrid Thompson of Harvest Rain Church International (HRCI) in 1998, whose main intention was to reach our community kids. Our vision is to become an extension of the Christian home by partnering with our families and community stakeholders to build high-quality programs that will save, equip, mentor, and empower children and youth to lead successful lives.

Mission

Our mission is to transform our community to impact nations. Our number one priority is to provide access to a high-quality, affordable, safe, loving, culturally diverse and academically enriched environment for at-risk children and youth regardless of their race, creed, color, disability, age, gender, family status, national origin, sexual orientation, economic status, or religion.

Background

Over the past 18 years, our organization has successfully provided children and youth services for the South Fulton community. We have impacted the community by helping at-risk children and youth improve their academic, social, emotional, cognitive, and school readiness skills. In November 2008, the Academy was awarded dual accreditation for its after-school program (national accreditation) and daycare/preschool program (state accreditation). Recently (2013 - 2014) our program was awarded state accreditation by Quality Rated (Bright from the Start) and Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC). In 2015 – 2016, the program extended its subsidies service to include additional slots for low-income families and also renovated its facilities to include additional classrooms. During our tenure, we have also been offering enrichment in Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STREAM) and outreach services. Some of these STREAM and outreach services include: dance, music, theatre, computer graphics, art, tutorial, community service, career exploration, STEM workshops, parenting groups, transportation, nutritional summer meals, and high-quality early childhood care by servicing over 5,000 students from low-income families.

Partners

Over the years we have partnered with ,United Way of Metro Atlanta, GA Pre-K DECAL, Quality Assist, Dollar General Literacy, SFSP, CACFP, City of Fairburn, Georgia Military College, Quality Care for Children, GSAC, Fulton County Arts and Culture, Fulton County Human Service Department (CSP grant), and Harvest Rain Church. Some of our artistic partners have been Nyasa Sullivan, Reigning Victory Dance Studio, Tayo Reed Dance Studio, and Amario Andre Arts Academy.
